The Diploma of Retail Management provides you with the skills and knowledge to gain a retail management positions. It also applies if you are providing support to senior management in a larger retail or wholesale outlet or being responsible for the management of a retail store or wholesale outlet.
There are two alternative pathways for entry into the Diploma of Retail Management. You will either: 1. Be competent, through a recognised training program or recognised process against the following units: • Communicate in the Workplace • Work Effectively in a Retail Environmen • Coordinate Interaction with Customers or Build Relationships with Customers 2. Have sufficient relevant wholesale or retail employment experience.
On completion of this course you will be able to work in a management role providing support to senior management in a larger retail or wholesale outlet or being responsible for the management of a retail store or wholesale outlet. Position titles may include store manager, merchandise manager, buyer or sales manager.
You will be assessed via completion of required tasks and a demonstration of skills, eg. Written and verbal assignments, practical work, classroom participation, projects and/or written tests.
This course will be delivered on campus part time over a 12 month period.
Skills Recognition is the process of gaining formal recognition for skills and knowledge that have been obtained through work history, previous study and life experience. Skills Recognition is an assessment-only process - there is no formal training involved, although you may choose to complete further training as a result of the assessment process. Skills Recognition is made up of one or more of the following processes including credit transfer and recognition of prior learning.

The standard hourly fee for this course in a Government subsidised place is $6.00.
A funded student can expect to pay no more than $4,860.00 in tuition fees to complete this course.
