This short course delivers training in Nationally Accredited Unit/s:
AHCCHM401A - Minimise risks in the use of chemicals
If you have had your Farm Chemical Users Certificate for 5 years, then this course will renew your currency. This course will provide you with:-
- Sources of information on chemicals, including labels, regulations, and MSDS.
- Relevant industry standards, Codes of Practice, State and Territory legislation and regulations governing application, transport, handling and storage of chemicals.
- OH & S legislation requirements and Codes of Practice
- Insurance required for chemical use, transportation and storage
- Correct wearing/fit of personal protective equipment
This will provide the opportunity to update your accreditation on AusChem data base.
To participate in this short course, there is an age restriction of 16+ years.
Pre-requisite requirements:- ACUP
Topics that will be covered include:-
- Identify hazards involved in chemical use
- Assess risk and development control procedure
- Implement and monitor procedures to ensure correct and safe use and application of chemicals
- Record risk assessment
- Evaluate risk control measures
Current Health Care Card (HCC) concessions available.
