This qualification covers enrolled nursing work in areas of specialisation, with advanced skills and knowledge in client assessment, care and management across a wide range of health care settings. Specialised areas of nursing (dependant on electives chosen) may include aged care, palliative care, perioperative nursing including day procedure units and surgical wards, rehabilitation units, diabetes education and emergency care.
Entry Requirements
Participants in this qualification must be eligible for enrolment with Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board and hold the Diploma of Nursing or equivalent or registration as an Enrolled Nurse in Victoria.
Pathways
Students may also choose to undertake further studies and can articulate into Bachelor of Nursing with LaTrobe University or Charles Sturt University. Students wishing to undertake studies at university level are advised to contact the relevant university

Successful completion of this course will allow students to work with patients with specific care needs.

Please note: Students will be required to purchase a uniform for practical placement.
Assessment
Participants are assessed via completion of required tasks and a demonstration of skills, eg. Written and verbal assignments, practical work, classroom participation, projects and/or written tests.
Study mode
This course can be completed on campus or as a traineeship in the workplace.

Skills Recognition is the process of gaining formal recognition for skills and knowledge that have been obtained through work history, previous study and life experience. Skills Recognition is an assessment-only process - there is no formal training involved, although you may choose to complete further training as a result of the assessment process. Skills Recognition is made up of one or more of the following processes including credit transfer and recognition of prior learning.

Fees
The standard hourly fee for this course in a Government subsidised place is $5.35.
A funded student can expect to pay no more than
$2,407.50 in tuition fees to complete this course.
