Certificate II in General Education for Adults (CGEA) course is designed to further develop general education skills across a range of subjects. The course provides pathways into TAFE courses and employment.

Entry Requirements
Students entering at Certificate II level must show competence at Certificate I of the CGEA or equivalent in the elective modules in which they wish to undertake study.

Pathways
Students who successfully complete the course may go on to complete TAFE certificates, tertiary studies (mature age entry), bridging courses and apprenticeships. Credit transfer and articulation are possible in some courses.

Career Information
CGEA is a general education curriculum for adults, which provides access to further education and training at a number of points.

Assessment
Assessment methods include but are not restricted to: * Student self assessment * Teacher observation * Reflective work journals * Oral presentations * Oral explanation of text * Written text * Discussion * Debates * Role Plays * Folios of tasks or investigations * Performing practical tasks

Study mode
This course is available on and off Campus through full time and part time study and may be customised to meet specific needs of a group or individual. The course provides maximum flexibility in the design of study sequences for learning pathways.

Skills Recognition
Skills Recognition is the process of gaining formal recognition for skills and knowledge that have been obtained through work history, previous study and life experience. Skills Recognition is an assessment-only process - there is no formal training involved, although you may choose to complete further training as a result of the assessment process. Skills Recognition is made up of one or more of the following processes including credit transfer and recognition of prior learning.

Fees
The standard hourly fee for this course in a Government subsidised place is $1.08.
A funded student can expect to pay no more than $356.40 in tuition fees to complete this course.
