This qualification is delivered on campus, as a Traineeship and via a flexible/online model for students already employed in the industry with CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care wishing to upskill with a Diploma qualification. Intake for each course occurs at regular intervals throughout the year. Students can apply for flexible delivery mode at all campuses- Benalla, Seymour, Shepparton, and Wangaratta.

Working in this industry may involve working outside of usual business hours, working with children who have additional needs, and working with parents, families and guardians, as well as other service providers and Early Childhood Education staff. Working in this industry can also be physically demanding. Applicants should consider their physical ability to complete the job role e.g. bending, lifting, manual handling etc.
After gaining the CHC50113 Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care, you might wish to undertake further study within a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education and Care at university level.

It is important that students commit to all course requirements, including class attendance, interaction with Moodle, off campus study and assessment completion.
Due to its demanding nature, this course requires a high level of commitment with a weekly off campus study load of 6 hours. This time is allocated to review content, complete homework tasks and undertake readings and research in preparation to undertaking assessments. This is in addition to time required for undertaking assessment work and preparing for practical placement.
Students are encouraged to attend all face-to-face sessions and participate in any Workshops and/or Webinars held outside of their scheduled days of attendance. A Moodle platform is used parallel to in class training, and students download and upload assessment work into this space.

The student tuition fees as published are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment.
You will receive an Indicative Fee Statement when you decide upon your course. A finalised invoice will be issued upon enrolment. Students will be invoiced for the components of the course that they are enrolled into for each year or semester.
Material fees cover costs associated with the following where applicable, and not limited to:
- Classroom activity consumables, handouts and booklets
- E-Learning resources and associated license access fees
Additionally some courses require students to purchase or supply text books, kits, tools, uniforms and personal protection equipment. Some specific materials may be purchased through the GOTAFE Book Shop. GOTAFE preferred entry requirements
Participants complete CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care and then apply for CHC50113 Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. Up to 15 units from CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care can be credit transferred into the Diploma.
Completion of a literacy and numeracy assessment (CSPA test) to determine support requirements. Those wanting to access a VET Student Loan must achieve a result of Language- 3, Literacy-3, Numeracy-3

Skills Recognition is an assessment only process that may result in credits towards a part or full qualification. There is no formal training involved, although you may choose to complete further training as a result of the assessment process.
You can apply for Skills Recognition before you enrol in the qualification you are seeking. You can apply for Skills Recognition through one or both of the following processes:
- Credit Transfer for formal training that might be equivalent to a new qualification or partial qualification
- Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for people who have relevant and current skills and knowledge that they have gained through non-formal or informal learning i.e. work or life experience.
