Registration & Continuous Improvement

Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE (GOTAFE) is a Registered Training Organisation (TOID 3094) with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) to deliver National training package qualifications and VET accredited courses to domestic and overseas students.

ASQA re-registration was granted for seven years following a re-registration audit in 2015. A copy of the registration certificate is included here.

The most recent audits of GOTAFE compliance were conducted by ASQA in response to GOTAFE request to provide training programs and to enrol overseas students and to be included on the CRICOS (Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students). In addition a compliance audit was conducted. The arrangements were:

No non compliances were identified in the audit for initial registration on CRICOS audit

Some non-compliances were identified in the Compliance audit. Rectification of each non-compliance has been made and implemented within the required timeframe.

GOTAFE is also registered with the Victorian Registration & Qualifications Authority (VRQA) to deliver senior secondary programs in Victoria. The Institute has been re-registered to 31 December 2019 by the VRQA to deliver VCAL, following a registration audit in late-2014/early 2015.

GOTAFE undertakes a range of activities for the purpose of continuous improvement in the quality of training and services provided.

Many activities involve feedback from key stakeholders, including client satisfaction surveys of students and employers. Quality Indicator surveys* of learner engagement and employer satisfaction were conducted in 2017 and a copy of the 2017 Registering Body Report is available here.

* Explanatory Notes for the Learner Engagement and Employer Satisfaction Surveys: These indicators are based on a survey of 328 students and 150 employers. This sample represents 2% of this organisation’s training delivery in the 2017 calendar year.
