This site is the home of the Animal Science Department, incorporating the National Centre for Equine Education (NCEE), and the Horticulture Department. The site attracts students from all over Australia and overseas to study either certificate or diploma level courses in horse breeding, horse racing, equine nursing and amenity horticulture.
The NCEE adopts a hands on training approach which ensures graduates are highly sought after by the horse breeding and racing industries, as well as the equine health and competition sectors, both in Australia and overseas. Staff at the NCEE include practicing equine veterinarians and nurses, experienced horse breeders and trainers, EFA Level 1 & 2 coaches, as well as professional alliances with leading farriers, equine dentists and veterinary hospitals.
The Christensen Lane Campus is also the base of the Park Lane Stud, a quality training facility for all NCEE programs. The Stud incorporates an excellent stable complex, including loose boxes and an indoor arena, 60 acres of fenced pasture and 20 thoroughbred mares and stallion. The Animal Care department provides a simulated animal care facility for students wanting to undertaken veterinary nursing and related companion animal care training.
The Horticulture department facilities include an industry standard hot house for propagating plants incorporating best practice in water recycling and fertilising.
