Sally Burt
Certificate III in Agriculture
Tallangatta’s Sally Burt chose to study at Dookie College because of the opportunities it gave her to "get out of my comfort zone".
"I wanted a good grounding in practical skills and to obtain knowledge of the agricultural sector which the GOTAFE Dookie course provided," said Sally.
Sally attended Dookie College for two to three days per month in 2006 and worked on her grandparent's cattle and sheep farm to put her training into practice. "Dookie has been terrific for me. I have met heaps of new people and have learnt lots. The field trips in particular were really valuable," she commented.
Sally is enrolled in the Certificate IV in 2007 and wants to move into farm business management later on. She says the GOTAFE Dookie College course provided her with exactly what she needed for a pathway into higher education.
Sally was awarded two external scholarships towards further study and for her involvement in community based agricultural events while at Dookie College.
"I’m very excited about the opportunities I now have to study further and travel overseas on field trips."
